Works on Metal
Each piece of metal is chosen for its unique patterns of rust, oxidation, and tarnishing, as these characteristics combine to invoke a vision. The sheet is thoroughly prepared and permanently mounted to a rigid backboard. The vision is then realized through the use of various materials, most notably soft or oil pastel. Care is taken in the execution of each piece to allow the metals’ unique characteristics to read in the finished work. Most are executed with the fingers and pencil erasers, and all are meant to demonstrate the now inseparable connection between industry and nature, and its undeniable effects.
